Bonfire Product Updates - Issue #1

Happy Tuesday, and welcome to the first edition of the Bonfire weekly update! This newsletter will go out weekly (as long as we have something important to say), and highlight new product features, cool use cases we're seeing from around the community, and may even include some drops and giveaways from time to time (like this one 👀):

Product Updates

💅 Glow up: If you hadn't noticed, we gave the entire product experience a much-needed glow up last week. Besides visual improvements throughout the experience, you can now:

  • Add a profile photo and bio

  • Add a '$Buy {your_coin}' button to your page, which links back to your Rally page

  • Add your current coin price to your page

  • Use an image as your page wallpaper (example here)

  • Here are a few more examples we love: $KKCR, $JEFF

  • Please check your page to make sure everything still looks nice, and you can customize it from the profile tab of your dashboard

🔥 Bonfire 🤝 Shopify: You can now upload a csv of unique promo codes (e.g. from a Shopify store) and attach it to a reward or store item, to sell or give away exclusive merch to coin holders. Each time that reward gets claimed or purchased, we'll automatically distribute an unused code to that community member, then mark the code as used. Here are a few examples of ways it can be used:

  1. Anyone holding >10 $MATT unlocks the ability to claim a free merch item from my Shopify store

  2. List your merch in your Bonfire store and let your community purchase it using your coin (without needing to manage two separate fulfillment backends)

  3. You can even generate a list of 'random' tiered promo codes (e.g. can be 10% off, 25% off, or 50% off) to add an element of chance to your reward. Any promo code Shopify (or your e-commerce platform of choice) accepts can now be tied to your rewards in Bonfire!

Drops Drops Drops 💧

ℹ️ Coin drops are a way to create a custom link and landing page, where anyone with that link can use it to claim a specified amount of your coin. You can customize parameters like how many coins per claim, how many total times it can be claimed, when it goes live and expires, and whether it's public or private.

Coin drops are far-and-away our most popular tool so far, with creators completing ~25 drops and distributing ~326 of various creator coins to their community! Just some of the examples we've seen so far have included:

  • Pasting the drop link in a Discord to reward active community members

  • Embedding the drop link in a QR code and showing it on a YouTube livestream or Zoom live event

  • Including a drop link in a newsletter to reward people opening and reading
