What's New

📥 Airdrops (with Shadow Accounts)

This week we're releasing a new type of airdrop feature - Direct Sends! Most of you will by now be familiar with the original "Coin Drop" feature that's been a part of our product since MVP. In addition to creating a link where any fan can go to claim a specified amount of your coin, you can now use Direct Sends to directly send coins to fan wallets via a list of emails.

A note on terminology: Throughout the product experience you'll notice we now refer to either type of airdrop simply as an Airdrop, and distinguish between the two by referring to their types Claimable Link or Direct Send where relevant.

What is a 'Shadow Account'?: Today, if someone doesn't have a Rally account then it's impossible to send them coins. This is a shame, because sending someone coins is a great way to get them to create a Rally account.

With shadow accounts, you can 'send' coins to a list of emails regardless of whether they already have an account set up. If a fan dos not have a Bonfire (or Rally) account, we'll send them an email notifying them that they've received an airdrop, with instructions on getting their account set up to receive it. We'll automatically deliver the airdrop as soon as they get set up, and you can track who's received it from your dashboard. After 30 days the airdrop will expire, and you can reclaim whatever coins have gone unclaimed.

How it Works

1. Click Create Airdrop from the Home tab or Airdrops tab in your dashboard, and select Direct Send

2. Give your airdrop a Name and a Note (optional)

3. Upload a csv of email addresses. You can either send a single amount of coins to all recipients on the list, or send a different amount per person by including an amount column in the csv file

4. Click Confirm 🎉

Innovative Use Case

($CMO) Best Marketing Advice Bounty

David's at it again, this time with a bounty to solicit the best marketing advice members of his community have ever received! His bounty for 3 $CMO received 18 community submissions in the first 72 hours (😮); he'll be packaging up these submissions into a marketing advice column to share back with his community in next week's newsletter, as an awesome example of the power of using creator coins to incentivize & reward community contribution.
