⏳ Countdown block: The clock is ticking!
gm, and welcome to issue #30 of ✨Spark✨ First off, we wanna quickly address the market and its implications on the creator economy. We’re witnessing a market crash (not just in crypto! so tell the crypto naysayers to stay in their lane ;) This might mean that your NFT drops won’t sell out or that the monetary value of your work will be lower than you had anticipated. We know it sucks. But there’s opportunity in troubled times. It could mean that free or more affordable NFTs are exactly what your community needs to help onboard more fans into web3. While times are tough, this too shall pass.

Creator Spotlight: Wrekonize
Rapper Wrekonize signed to Strange Music, an independent record label as the lead vocalist in the band ¡MAYDAY! in 2011. Two years later, he signed a solo contract. He released 3 full-length solo albums and a few singles in the years to follow. This week, he’s released his first completely independent single, Planet Worth. To celebrate, he’s selling Planet Worth Open Edition NFTs (sales end today, so if you wanna snatch one, get moving!)

Tip of the week
Since we’re hosting an event during NFT.NYC might as well talk about networking tips for IRL meetups. In Marissa King’s book, Social Chemistry, she mentions that humans naturally gravitate towards connections in pairs of two. So when you’re at a networking event, try to find odd-numbered groups as there’ll probably be one person there who is less engaged in the conversation. That’s your key to making a new connection.
If you’re in NYC, come join us on the 21st from 11am-4pm. No need to worry about networking tips. Lots of team members will be there and we’d love to connect! Sign up here: https://lu.ma/vibesessions
