đź”’ Token Gating Design Overhaul (Pt 1)

We’ve been hard at work these past couple of weeks on a series of improvements to our token-gating UX/UI, and Pt 1 is now ready for the limelight!

This initial release implements a series of improvements to make it quicker and easier to configure a token gate, such as:

  • Collection Nicknames: When importing a collection, you can now give it a “nickname”. This is especially useful when importing a collection from a shared “platform contract” - e.g. when importing your 1/1s from a platform like Catalog, you can now give your collection a name like “My Catalog 1/1s”, whereby previously it would always use the contract’s on-chain name

  • “My Collections”: When adding a token requirement, you’ll see a new option “My Collections”, which gives you a dropdown of all your imported collections. In other words, no need to go searching for that contract address again

  • Token Type Inference: We now infer the “type” of your token (e.g. ERC-20, 721, or 1155) from the contract address, both saving you a click and guaranteeing accuracy

And stay tuned for Pt 2, coming next week đź‘€

Creator Spotlight

Last week, multi-instrumentalist electronic musician and producer, @Daktyl, dropped their first nft project in collaboration with 3d visual artist @alecmaassen. If you haven’t heard of him yet, check out this Tiktok video of him looping a beat live with 5 instruments or more in 60 seconds for Redbull Music. Impressive, right?

Tip of the week

Last week we shared a guide on how to add animations to the hero block. We knew that being an expert at After Effects wasn’t going to be a viable option for everyone, so this week we found a much easier alternative to use animations. Check out the updated guide and create animations for your hero block using something as easy as Canva. S/o to @itscharliecrown for showing us the way.
